Is the seed yet in the barn? Indeed, the vine, the fig tree, the pomegranate, and the olive tree have yielded nothing. But from this day on I will bless you.”
(Haggai 2:19 ESV)
Don’t be discouraged. As Rutherford puts it: “Be not afraid of little grace. Christ soweth his living seed, and he will not lose his seed….Our spoilt works, losses, deadness, coldness, wretchedness, are the ground” in which the Divine farmer works.
It may not be very flattering, but our lives offer the best fertilizer for the Lord to bring about something good. Wait patiently for Him to accomplish His purposes. At the proper time the saints will see God reaping an incredible harvest.
