Since Christ has died for us, and we along with Him, we no longer live to or for ourselves. And since God has committed to us the ministry of reconciliation (we are urging all people everywhere to be reconciled to God through Jesus Christ), how can we view them the same way we always have? We can’t. In light of the gospel, it’s out of synch to treat anyone as a nuisance, annoying, someone to lust after, to condemn or ignore or run over. Each co-worker, neighbor, family member now takes on a position of honor and significance. The love of Christ changes everything—not only in my self-centered world, but also for those surrounding me.
