and shall declare your mighty acts.
On the glorious splendor of your majesty,
and on your wondrous works, I will meditate.
(Psalm 145:4-5 ESV)
Whether you journal or blog or both, there are great benefits to be had. First, you have the opportunity to pass on the truth of God and your “glowing delight” in knowing Him. We commend His faithfulness and might to our peers and the up-and-coming generations as we record the everyday impact of Scripture on our lives.
Second, we personally benefit from the exercise of writing. I love how Augustine put it: “I count myself one of the number of those who write as they learn and learn as they write.” Writing helps us to get focused and meditate on the Word and articulate (hopefully in an accurate manner) what we are digesting.
So grab your pen and journal (or computer keyboard) and fill those pages! Those around you will benefit from the living legacy of God's amazing grace and so will you.
