It’s really good news for those who believe and delight in their risen Lord. These can be sure they will be raised with him since they have died with him. Remember that the apostle Paul wrote: “The saying is trustworthy, for: If we have died with him, we will also live with him” (2 Timothy 2:11 ESV).
It’s really bad news for those who will continue to the end in their rejection of him because he will come again to judge the traitors and rebels of the kingdom. The resurrection actually stands as a testimony against them. As Paul preached in Athens: God “has fixed a day on which he will judge the world in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed; and of this he has given assurance to all by raising him from the dead” (Acts 17:31 ESV).
So, let’s all be warned: “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel” (Mark 1:15 ESV).
