One who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much, and one who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much. (Luke 16:10 ESV)
Most of us want to do great things for God. We don’t want to do the little things. Just give us the big assignments with lots of upfront time and recognition. Deep within all of us is the desire to be a rock star.
The problem is unless we are faithful to obey in the small ways—the unseen acts—we will never be moved on to the “more important” (I’m really not quite sure what the "more important" is). Scripture gives us our directive. Do something small today. Do it often … do it faithfully as if you were doing it directly for the Lord Himself. That’s all that really matters. Let me get radical and say that this is the only form of obedience the Lord honors.
… I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of wickedness. (Psalm 84:10 ESV)
