The shortest chapter or portion of Scripture, Psalm 117, lays out God's chief aim for the world today. It reads, "Praise the LORD, all nations! Extol him, all peoples! For great is his steadfast love toward us, and the faithfulness of the LORD endures forever. Praise the LORD!" Pretty simple isn't it? So how does this imperative demanding our full attention and response intersect with the reality of the Dark Continent? For the Church, Psalm 117 is the neon sign pointing to the lost and dying of Asia—those who are not worshipping Jesus Christ, the One they’ve never heard of. It is calling us to be obedient and make Jesus and His gospel known.
Do you want to get involved in something bigger than yourself? The glory and worship of our great God is something worth living for and dying for. This is truly meaningful. Spend your life for this. So how has the Lord gifted and burdened you to be a part of this endeavor?
